USCIS has completed the initial selection process for the FY 2026 H-1B cap. Employers who submitted electronic registrations during the open period (March 7, 2025 – March 24, 2025) are now able to view the results in their online USCIS accounts. If Global Immigration Partners completed the registration phase with you, you will receive a notification regarding the selection of any of your cases from our office.
Selected registrants will see a status of “Selected,” along with instructions to proceed with filing a complete H-1B petition on behalf of the named beneficiary. Registrants who were not selected in the initial round will still display a status of “Submitted.”
Next Steps for Employers:
-
Review USCIS accounts for selection notifications.
-
Contact Global Immigration Partners to begin preparation of full H-1B petitions for selected beneficiaries.
-
File petitions before June 30, 2025.
As a reminder, selection in the registration process does not guarantee approval of the H-1B petition. Employers must still demonstrate eligibility under all statutory and regulatory requirements.
If additional selections occur later in the fiscal year, USCIS is expected to make an announcement only very shortly before conducting the selection. In past years, such second rounds have been held no earlier than August. Global Immigration Partners will share updates about any additional rounds of the lottery in an employer alert.
If an employee was not selected and you need specific guidance on what options they may have to remain in the United States, please reach out to our office to set up a consultation.
